چکیده
Abstract The income inequality-economic growth linkage is a topical issue in economics and policy discussions. Both theoretical empirical results on the impact of inequality economic have been controversial. One criticisms existing studies relates to using cross-sectional data linear estimation techniques for analysis. Capitalising limitations literature, this article employs novel Quantile-on-Quantile Regression (QQR) approach examine relationship between BRICS. Applying QQR technique helps model how distributions affect growth. quantile cointegration tests reveal indicate that has stronger negative effect lower middle tails Brazil while having positive Russia, China South Africa. For India, tail higher These are consistent with regression results. Further analysis from Granger causality-in-quantiles shows at various quantiles, bidirectional causal exists China, unidirectional causality runs India. No was found Russia implications discussed.

Attention must be given to heterogeneous magnitudes. Moreover, there is a need for the derivation of partial orderings based on explicit or...

This paper uses panel data from African countries and a dynamic panel estimator to investigate the effects of corruption on economic growth and income distribution. I find that corruption decreases economic growthdirectly and indirectly through decreased investment in physical capital. A unit increase in corruption reduces the growth rates of GDP and per capita income by between 0.75 and 0.9 pe...

This paper investigates causal relations between economic growth, income inequality, and transmission channels during the period 1972 to 2016. These channels include saving rate, investment rate, redistribution policies, human capital, and conspicuous consumption. There is no strong evidence that supports uni-directional or bi-directional causality. In addition, some of the transmission channel...
